I just wanted to tell you a little bit about what you can expect when you come for a studio shoot, perhaps for some corporate headshots. It's very simple, it's very relaxed and there's really nothing to worry about.
If it's any consolation I don't like having my picture taken as well but the beauty with the studio setting it's just a one-to-one and it's very relaxed and informal and most people find that after they've been doing it for a couple of minutes they feel quite relaxed, because actually it's a bit of a laugh, and of course the beauty in the digital age is you can share the images on the back of the camera straight away so people know perhaps what their good side is or perhaps what sort of smile they want to do so it's really very easy.
So don't worry about that at all, but I appreciate for most people a studio environment is very uncomfortable! So what we'll do is we'll meet up have a cup of coffee, talk about perhaps and style of images that you've liked that perhaps you've seen online.
Bring a change of clothes - you may want to have a change of shirt or change of jacket or scarves or whatever just to give you a few options in your images. Quite often people will book me say for a corporate headshot and we'll do something on the white background and they'll be, you know, shirt and tie or suit whatever and then they'll bring a perhaps a more relaxed shirt and that will give them a bit of variety of choice.
It's really very straightforward. The average headshot takes about 45 minutes to an hour and depends how much we chat and have a cup of coffee (!) but really it is a lot of fun and most people come away from it finding it a very positive experience.
